Happy 2023! New Year, Better Me

Happy New Year! Did you create your new year’s resolutions or goals for the year and start working on them? It’s already a week into January and we all should have already started working on our new year’s resolutions/goals. Or is that wishful thinking? I would like to be in the category of planning ahead to create all my goals by January 1st and begin working towards my goals on January 1st. I admit that December 2022 was busiest month of year that I didn’t have a chance to even think my 2023 goals. The truth is that my December goal was to survive till the end of the year and that’s just what I did! High five!

In January, I want to start the year on the right foot and thrive. There is nothing magical about January 1st. Rather, it’s just an arbitrary date that our society tells us that we should have new year’s resolutions/goals and we better start working them. Let’s take off the pressure that we need to have our goals planned out by January 1st and actually make time to create yearly goals! Take a deep breath!

When you look back at the past year, do you ever think about what you accomplished? Or do you ever wonder what you could have accomplished if you set goals for yourself? I used to be a person who didn’t believe in new year’s resolutions because why create them and be disappointed at the end of the year. By the end of January, I gave up when I didn’t make progress on my goals and made the excuse of why new year’s resolutions don’t work.

At that time, I wished I had tools to help me to be successful in goal setting. A few years ago, I found the right tools to help me to be successful at goal setting. I signed up for workshops and tried various goal planners, which helped to reframe my attitude towards new year’s resolutions and goal setting. As a result, I felt like I could accomplish something by the end of the year and make a difference in my own life. Since then, I create yearly goals at the beginning of each year, break down my goals into small bite size steps, and put my mind towards accomplishing those goals. By the end of the year, I was proud of myself for accomplishing more than I thought I could do by the end of the year.

One of my goals that has been swimming in my head for the past year was creating and presenting a workshop. Recently, a friend mentioned how she needed help creating yearly goals since that was something new to her. For a few hours, we discuss her goals and she came away with a plan. After helping my friend, she felt happy that she knew where to start with her yearly goals. Then, I thought to myself there must be more people out there that are in same shoes as my friend and I can lead an online goal setting workshop. That’s how I formed my 1st goal in 2023.

I believe everyone has the ability to become a better version of themselves and create yearly goals/new year’s resolutions! We all want to be better versions of ourselves, so we can dream big and shine brightly in 2023! I’m here to help you with that by giving you the tools to be successful. Join me in a FREE goal setting workshop online on January 21 (Saturday) from 10-11:30 AM PST. This workshop will give you the practical steps to create your annual goals, so you’ll feel like you’re off to a great start for 2023.
